There are three islands: Aranmor, the north island,<br />about nine miles long; Inishmaan, the middle island, about three<br />miles and a half across, and nearly round in form; and the south<br />island, Inishere--in Irish, east island,--like the middle island but<br />slightly smaller. They lie about thirty miles from Galway, up the<br />centre of the bay, but they are not far from the cliffs of County<br />Clare, on the south, or the corner of Connemara on the north.<br /><br />Kilronan, the principal village on Aranmor, has been so much changed<br />by the fishing industry, developed there by the Congested Districts<br />Board, that it has now very little to distinguish it from any<br />fishing village on the west coast of Ireland. The other islands are<br />more primitive, but even on them many changes are being made, that<br />it was not worth while to deal with in the text.<br /><br />In the pages that follow I have given a direct account of my life on<br />the islands, and of what I met with among them, inventing nothing,<br />and changing nothing that is essential. As far as possible, however,<br />I have disguised the identity of the people I speak of, by making<br />changes in their names, and in the letters I quote, and by altering<br />some local and family relationships. I have had nothing to say about<br />them that was not wholly in their favour, but I have made this<br />disguise to keep them from ever feeling that a too direct use had<br />been made of their kindness, and friendship, for which I am more<br />grateful than it is easy to say.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.gutenberg.org/dirs/etext03/trnsl10.txt" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><span style="font-weight: bold;">DOWNLOAD HERE</span></a> </span>Free VNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09766102491165418451noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2408488445443510.post-54180917942280175822009-03-02T16:00:00.000+07:002009-03-02T16:00:00.420+07:00Notes on the Indian tribes of British North America and the northwest coast<span class="nonefont" style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:85%;"> <div class="NormalRecord"> <table class="Bibrec"> <tbody> <tr> <td class="Label">Title:</td> <td>Notes on the Indian tribes of British North America and the northwest coast</td></tr> <tr> <td class="Label">Additional Title:</td> <td>Historical magazine, and notes and queries concerning the antiquities, history, and biography of America.</td></tr> <tr> <td class="Label">Principal Author:</td> <td><a href="http://www.canadiana.org/ECO/SearchResults?id=7f65bda09ebd7870&query=Anderson,%20Alexander%20Caulfield,%201814-1884.&range=author&bool=exact&subset=all">Anderson, Alexander Caulfield, 1814-1884.</a> </td></tr> <tr> <td class="Label">Imprint:</td> <td>[New York? : s.n., 1863?] </td></tr> <tr> <td class="Label">General Note:</td> <td>Caption title.</td></tr> <tr> <td class="Label"><br /></td> <td>At head of title : General department.</td></tr> <tr> <td class="Label"><br /></td> <td>"And read before the New York Historical Society, November, 1862."</td></tr> <tr> <td class="Label"><br /></td> <td>Manuscript annotations.</td></tr> <tr> <td class="Label"><br /></td> <td>Title from title screen.</td></tr> <tr> <td class="Label"><br /></td> <td>From the Historical Magazine, vol. 7, no. 3 (March, 1863).</td></tr> <tr> <td class="Label">Document Source:</td> <td>Scanned from a CIHM microfiche of the original publication held by the Library Division, Provincial Archives of British Columbia.</td></tr> <tr> <td class="Label">Subject:</td> <td><a href="http://www.canadiana.org/ECO/SearchResults?id=7f65bda09ebd7870&query=Indians%20of%20North%20America%20--%20British%20Columbia.&range=subject&bool=exact&subset=all">Indians of North America -- British Columbia.</a> </td></tr> <tr> <td class="Label">Collection:</td> <td>Native Studies</td></tr> <tr> <td class="Label">CIHM no.:</td> <td>16598 </td></tr> <tr> <td class="Label">Page Count:</td> <td>11 </td></tr></tbody></table></div> <p><a href="http://www.canadiana.org/ECO/mtq?doc=16598" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Read ALL</a></p></span>Free VNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09766102491165418451noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2408488445443510.post-55718455070472273102009-03-02T10:00:00.000+07:002009-03-02T10:00:00.168+07:00The Water of the Wondrous Isles<span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:85%;"><strong><br /></strong></span> <span class="nonefont" style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:85%;"> <p>The said town was hard on the borders of a wood, which men held to be mighty great, or maybe measureless; though few indeed had entered it, and they that had, brought back tales wild and confused thereof.</p> <p>Therein was neither highway nor byway, nor wood-reeve nor way-warden; never came chapman thence into Utterhay; no man of Utterhay was so poor or so bold that he durst raise the hunt therein; no outlaw durst flee thereto; no man of God had such trust in the saints that he durst build him a cell in that wood.</p> <p><a href="http://www.bookrags.com/ebooks/8778/4.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Download here</a></p></span>Free VNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09766102491165418451noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2408488445443510.post-8237117513558044622009-03-02T04:00:00.001+07:002009-03-02T04:00:00.497+07:00Embracing Biographical Sketches Of Representative Michigan Men<span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:85%;"><strong></strong></span>SUMMARY<br /><span class="nonefont" style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:85%;"><p><strong></strong>This book provides full-page biographies of men prominent in Michigan's business, professional, political, educational, and cultural life in the late nineteenth century. It is significant because it reveals so clearly the sources of that revolt. It is in a sense the history of an epoch—an epoch that is just closing. It represents one of the great discoveries of English literature: a discovery that had been made from time to time before, and that is now being made anew in our own generation—the discovery of human nature.<o:p></o:p></p> <p>The reason why this discovery has had to be made so often is that it shocks people. They try to hush it up; and they do succeed in forgetting about it for long periods of time, and pretending that it doesn't exist. They are shocked because human nature is not at all like the pretty pictures we like to <o:p></o:p></p> <p><a href="http://www.bookrags.com/ebooks/11654/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Download</a></p></span>Free VNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09766102491165418451noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2408488445443510.post-7277979442675185062009-03-01T14:00:00.001+07:002009-03-01T14:00:00.874+07:00Top Secret (1984)<img style="width: 346px; height: 346px;" src="http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000066C6Z.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V1057228183_.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><br />American rock star Nick Rivers (Kilmer) teams up with the lovely Hillary Flammond (Gutteridge) to escape capture by the East German High Command. I am writing these words with my imagination stirred by a visit<br />to the studio of Mr. Dulac, the distinguished illustrator of the Arabian<br />Nights. I saw there the mask and head-dress to be worn in a play of mine<br />by the player who will speak the part of Cuchulain, and who wearing<br />this noble half-Greek half-Asiatic face will appear perhaps like an image<br />seen in revery by some Orphic worshipper. I hope to have attained the<br />distance from life which can make credible strange events, elaborate<br />words. I have written a little play that can be played in a room for so<br />little money that forty or fifty readers of poetry can pay the price.<br />There will be no scenery, for three musicians, whose seeming sun-burned<br />faces will I hope suggest that they have wandered from village to village<br />in some country of our dreams, can describe place and weather, and at<br />moments action, and accompany it all by drum and gong or flute and<br />dulcimer. Instead of the players working themselves into a violence of<br />passion indecorous in our sitting-room, the music, the beauty of form and<br />voice all come to climax in pantomimic dance.<br /></span></p> <p><span class="nonefont" style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:85%;"><a href="http://www.gutenberg.org/dirs/etext05/7cnpj10.txt" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Download</a></span></p>Free VNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09766102491165418451noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2408488445443510.post-74298629184197563882009-02-28T08:00:00.001+07:002009-02-28T08:00:01.079+07:00Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)<img style="width: 326px; height: 483px;" src="http://i41.tinypic.com/k3kwsj.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><br />A young boy wins a tour through the most magnificent chocolate factory in the world, led by the world's most unusual candy maker.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8GSCL0LY"><span style="font-weight: bold;">DOWNLOAD HERE</span></a>Free VNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09766102491165418451noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2408488445443510.post-33092839229477627802009-02-28T06:00:00.001+07:002009-02-28T06:00:01.015+07:00Restarter V1.04<span style="color:Red;"><b><span style="font-size:130%;">Restarter V1.04</span></b></span><br /><br /><a href="http://ifile.it/lghvw8z"><span style="font-weight: bold;">DOWNLOAD HERE</span></a>Free VNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09766102491165418451noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2408488445443510.post-67220853754971556442009-02-28T04:00:00.000+07:002009-02-28T04:00:00.667+07:00A History Of Hand made Lace<span class="nonefont" style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:85%;"><p>A History Of Hand-made Lace</p> <p><a href="http://www.cs.arizona.edu/patterns/weaving/books/je_lace_1.pdf" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Download</a> (pdf)</p></span>Free VNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09766102491165418451noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2408488445443510.post-57327592520738040582009-02-28T02:00:00.001+07:002009-02-28T02:00:00.706+07:00Pretty Woman (1990)<div id="post_message_4260"> <img src="http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00081U7HC.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><br /><b>Touchstone Pictures Home Entertainment<br />Dolby Digital 5.1<br />125 Minutes<br />Subtitles: English<br />1.85:1<br />Dual Layer:Yes<br />Anamorphic:Yes<br />Rated:R<br />Region:1</b><br /><br />Pretty Woman is a 1990 romantic comedy film.
